Q.  What type and size homes does Barden Build?
A.  We design and supply all sizes, types, and styles of homes:  traditional, comtemporary, secondary, vacations, etc.  We will custom design the exterior and interior to suit your personal preferences.

Q.  Does Barden build "pre-fab" or "modular" homes?
A.  Absolutely Not!  We design and build only custom engineered, open panel homes.  All exterior walls and roof trusses are 2 x 6's that we engineer to exact specifications.

Q.  Do we have to build one of the homes in your catalog?
A.  No.  We have designed our catalogs to feature over 150 design alternatives which we can alter at your request.  We acknowledge that it is virtually impossible for us to have designed the perfect layout for you right down the smallest details.  We will design and build from your planes and/or ideas.

Q.  What about the quality of construction in your home?
A.  We take great pride in our unique standard specifications and suggeste that you familiarize yourself with them.  We're sure you'll agres that most of our standards are normally optional upgrades and perhaps not available with other builders.

Q.  What are the price ranges of your homes?
A.  The prices, excluding land, depend on the size, style, and design.  We make every effort to design a home within your preferred budget.

Q.  What does it cost per square foot to build a Barden Home?
A.  This commonly asked questions has no one answer for custom homes and is not recommended when shopping for prices.  Specificatiosn and style vary too widely and design can impact the actual cost too much to provide fair competitive analysis.  We bid all of our homes on an individual basis which insures a more accurate price quote.

Q. Do your costs vary accordibg to the area in which you're building?
A.  No. Regardless of where your home is built, the same prices applies.  The only adjustments would be due to local building codes, subcontractor labor and material rates.

Q.  Is there a charge for a cost estimate?
A.  No.  We will provide you with a costg extimate free of charge.  We only need to clarify exactly what you want and expect in your new home.

Q.  Can we just hire you to design a home for us?
A.  Unfortunately no.  We only office this service to clients who have purchased a Barden package.

Q.  If we meed with you, when do you expect a decision from us?
A.  There are three phases we go though prior to expecting any type of decision from you.  The first phase is an informal meeting in our office to exchange information adn discuss specific goals and ovjectives.  The second phase is more design oriented to insure that the home we are discussing is within your preferred budget guidelines.  The third phase, which involves a contract with us, is a final clarification of the design, finishing amenities and on-site costs.  Regardless of home much time we need to finish each phase, we want you to be well-informed and completely comfortable with your decision.

Q.  How long does the building process take?
A.  It normally take three to five months from start of construction to finish.  It may take longer for a larger or more complicated design.  We can better determine construction milestone upon finalization of the design.

Q.  What if we would like to do some of the work ourselfs?
A.  We encurage you to do some of the work yourself to save even more.
